"Memoirs to Little Jamaica" shares my experience of growing up as a second-generation Jamaican-Canadian, longing to feel closer to my Jamaican heritage. It is about not feeling at home in the country where you were born. I remain deeply connected to my cultural roots outside of Canada, yet I feel distant and separated from my parent’s country of origin because I was not born and raised there.
